Location: In-Person | Warrensburg, Missouri

Status: Full-Time, Bonus Eligible

  • At Lotspeich Law, LLC, we have replaced the traditional "law factory" chaos with a disciplined, tech-forward environment built for high-performing professionals. We believe that the best work happens when talented people are given the tools they need and the autonomy to use them.

How We Work: Ownership over Oversight: We don’t micromanage. We hire "A-Players" who take internal accountability for their results and manage their responsibilities independently.

Calm in the Storm: Our clients come to us during their most difficult moments. We maintain a standard of "fierce professionalism and wild compassion," navigating high-stakes situations with steady, ethical judgment.

Precision & Systems: We rely on clear SOPs and modern digital tools to ensure nothing is overlooked. You will thrive here if you have an "eagle eye" for detail and a passion for organized excellence.

Continuous Evolution: This is a firm for the lifelong learner. We recognize and reward those who proactively seek mastery in their craft and contribute to the firm's growth.

  • As a Family Law Paralegal at Lotspeich Law, you don’t just assist; you own the progression of cases from initial intake to final resolution. We specialize in high-stakes family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and modifications.

    • Legal Drafting & Documentation: Independently draft complex pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and parenting plans. You will also prepare detailed financial affidavits and proposed orders following established firm SOPs.

    • Case Strategy & Research: Conduct in-depth research of Missouri statutes, Supreme Court rules, and case law to provide actionable summaries that drive attorney strategy.

    • Case Management Excellence: Maintain meticulous accuracy within MyCase, ensuring all digital files, trial binders, and exhibits are trial-ready. You will proactively manage the firm’s master calendar to ensure all court deadlines are met.

    • Court Relations & E-Filing: Manage all Missouri e-filing (Case.net) submissions, coordinate the service of subpoenas, and serve as a professional liaison between the firm, the courts, and opposing counsel.

    • Proactive Analysis: Conduct thorough financial and discovery analysis (such as bank records and tax returns) to flag critical issues and inconsistencies before they reach the attorney’s desk.

    • High-Stakes Communication: Provide empathetic, clear, and professional communication to clients navigating emotionally charged legal transitions

  • Essential Education & Experience

    • Academic Background: An Associate’s degree or higher is required, with a strong preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.

    • Litigation Expertise: Proven experience working within a law firm environment; specific experience in Missouri family law litigation (divorce, custody, and modifications) is a significant advantage.

    • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Google Workspace, PDF suites (Adobe or Nitro), and legal case management software—proficiency in MyCase or Clio is highly preferred.

    • High-Stakes Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to multitask effectively under the pressure of court-mandated deadlines.

    The Ideal Candidate (Preferred)

    • Missouri Procedural Mastery: Practical experience with the Missouri e-filing system (Case.net) and drafting family-law-specific documents such as Form 14 child support worksheets.

    • Commitment to the Craft: We value professionals who demonstrate initiative through self-improvement, whether by attending CLEs, engaging with legal industry podcasts/literature, or pursuing advanced certifications.

    • Technological Adaptability: Comfort working within an Apple/Mac ecosystem and a high level of "tech-fluency" when adopting new digital tools and automation.

    • Emotional Composure: The ability to maintain professional boundaries and provide calm, clear guidance to clients experiencing high-conflict life transitions.

  • At Lotspeich Law, we provide a professional setting designed for high-caliber legal talent who prefer clarity over chaos. Our practice is built on a foundation of mutual accountability and disciplined excellence.

    • Autonomy & Ownership: We hire professionals, not task-takers. We offer an environment where self-directed "A-Players" excel without the need for micromanagement or constant oversight.

    • Systematized for Success: Our firm operates with defined systems and clear SOPs, ensuring you have the structure needed to focus on high-impact legal work rather than administrative guesswork.

    • Collaborative In-Office Culture: Based in our Warrensburg office, our team prioritizes in-person collaboration and the highest standards of client confidentiality.

    • A Culture of Initiative: While team support is always available, we empower our staff to lead. Initiative is the primary driver of success and growth within our firm.

    • Work-Life Integration: We maintain a disciplined schedule that respects your time, including early Friday closings to support a healthy work-life balance.
